22nd June El Questro





Today we are doing the big walk to El Questro Gorge and we made it after climbing over bolders and up cliffs took us 5hrs return great walk except everyone was hurting that night.

21st June Home Valley – El Questro





Made our way down to the Pentecost river and then across and when we entered the station our fist stop was Zebedee Hot springs lovely.  We headed into the station to the camp ground and in the afternoon went for a drive to some lookouts.

Sat around this morning a bit tired from all the travelling and later in the day went up on Telstra hill to make a few phone calls.  We drove around 16ks to find a Bindoola falls walked around for a bit then headed back to camp and we had a lovely dinner there that night.

19th June Ellenbrae – Home Valley




We did not have to travel far today as Home Valley is our stop. Lovely green grass in the camp ground found a spot to camp then headed to the pool for a swim.

18th June Drysdale – Ellenbrae





Today we are moving on and arrived in Ellenbrae for Scones which it is famous for.  We decided to stay here the night found the camp ground and set up then headed down to a gorge on the property for a swim.

17th June King Edward River – Drysdale





Had an early morning swim before making the journey back to Drysdale arrived in time for lunch at the café then went for a quick swim at Miners Pool which was lovely.

16th June Mitchell Falls – King Edward River




We started our walk to the falls early had a swim in a couple of swim holes before making the falls and a lot more water going over this year.  Had a swim up the top before walking around to the lookout and then we caught the helicopter back to camp. We moved onto King Edward River for the night.



15th June Drysdale – Mitchell Falls





We arrived at King Edward River for a swim before heading to Mitchell Falls and the road got really rough going this way and when we arrived it was very hot and we walked to little Mertens falls for a swim.

14th June Mt Elizabeth Station – Drysdale




Now back on the GRR and the road conditions have not changed still very rough.  We arrived in Drysdale around 1:30pm had dinner there that night.

Today we are heading to Wunumurra Gorge 1hr drive over rough terrain when we arrived at the gorge what a beautiful spot for a swim.

12th June Manning – Mt Elizabeth Station




Called into Barnette River in the morning had a swim in the water hole there before making our way to Mt Elizabeth 30ks off the GRR.  As we arrived a RFD plane was landing to pick up someone that was sick. In the afternoon we drove to Warla Gorge for swim.

11th June Manning Camp Ground





Walked into the 21/2ks into the gorge very hot what a lovely swim hole this is. When we walked back had a swim in the water hole back at camp.

10th June Mornington – Manning Camp ground





Stopped at Addcock gorge when for a small walk and then we drove straight to Mt Barnette booked into the camp ground and then we drove 13ks back Galvan’s Gorge for a swim.

Dimond creek gorge today with a paddle down and it was a beautiful day found a little water fall and had our lunch there in the shade. Had dinner in the restaurant  which was very nice.

Off to Sir John Gorge today driving through the property and it was a great drive.  Walked into the gorge and along for a short time and found a spot for morning tea and then a swim lots of fish in the water.  On the way back to camp stopped at Blue bush swim hole then in the afternoon went for a walk along Anne creek trail then stopped at the restaurant for tea and cake.



7th June Silent Grove – Mornington Wilderness Camp





Stopped at Imijin shop for a drink before heading to Mornington info shed to radio and tell them we are coming in as it is 88ks drive in and they like to know you are on the way in.  We took 2hrs and arrived at the reception booked and then found a spot for all of us to put the van’s.  After lunch we drove to Cadjeput for a swim and the water was cool.

6th June Silent Grove




Bell Gorge today so we had to drive 10ks to the carpark and 2ks return into the gorge and it was as pretty as it was last time. Had some lunch on the rocks before walking back to the top and have another swim in the pools above the falls.

5th June Mt Hart – Silent Grove




We went passed Lennard Gorge today and found out it was closed and has been for 4 years did not know that until later. Arrived in Silent Grove around 12pm and sat around camp for the rest of the day.

Anne Creek was our first stop today and we saw a big boab tree and a water crossing.  We then drove to Matthew Gorge had morning tea then walked into the gorge hopping over rocks and found a spot to swim in very lovely.

3rd June Windjana – Mt Hart




Pete had a flat tyre on the way today,  From the GRR 50ks to Mt Hart a lovely drive in.  When we arrived in it was lunch and we drove to Bakers Pool for a swim great spot water a bit cool. Up to the sunset hill in the afternoon.

Tunnel Creek




A trip to tunnel creek this morning with a walk through more water in it this year.  We took a walk in the Gorge in the afternoon very hot walk not much to see more crocs.

1st June Broome – Windjana




We are heading out of Broome this morning and our first stop is Roebuck RH now onto a road stop for morning tea.  Derby for lunch and a look at the wharf.  Arrived in Windjana mid afternoon and sat around camp. After dinner we took a walk down to the gorge and have a look at the crocs.

We just finished all the shopping today as we are moving on tomorrow, last minute looking around town as well.   We drove down to town beach in the evening to see the moon and it was a perfect night clear so the stairway to the moon was great.  We raced over to the other side of Broome to have dinner in a lovely restraint.

30th May Broome



Busy day today doing some shopping for the next leg of our trip. Lunch down town then in the evening made our way to the market before heading to the beach to see the moon too much cloud to see the moon rise.

29th May Port Smith – Broome



Made our way to Broome today with another stop at Roebuck for morning tea, we all went and looked at the shops in the afternoon and went for a swim in the pool at the park.

The same today down for a swim in the morning and fishing in the afternoon with another fish dinner.

Went down to see how far the tide comes in and not much beach left so we had a swim and it was very nice. Back to the beach in the afternoon for some more fishing.




26th May Nillibubbica RA – Port Smith




At Roebuck not far from where we camped we turn south and head 100ks down to the turnoff to Port Smith, a sandy road in but good.
Caravan park basic but nice, after we set up we drove the short distance to the beach and the water was crystal clear did some fishing in the afternoon.
